Russell Lenell McLaws

Russell Lenell Mc-Laws, 69, passed away October 9, 2022, from a long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his home into the arms of those who loved him and the rest of the Lord.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Lenard L. McLaws and Emily Rose. He was also preceded in death by both his sisters, Alice Jeanette McLaws and Helen Barbette Wilson. He is survived by his daughter, Shasta McLaws of Jerome; and his eight-year companion, Sandra Wicker of Riggins.

Russell was raised by his grandmother, Alice McLaws, and attended local schools. He trained as a meat cutter and in autobody repair. He enjoyed making jewelry. He volunteered at the local food bank, donating time at Riggins One Stop to help Sandra, and crocheting hats for the homeless. He was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed helping others, his family, and the outdoors.

A celebration of life is planned for May.
