CALDWELL – Ronald C Hyde, 77, of Caldwell, Idaho, and formerly of Paul, Idaho, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, surrounded by family.
He was born September 7, 1947, in Emmett, Idaho, the son of Albert and Juanita Ashley Hyde. He grew up in Star, Idaho, on a potato and beet farm.
Ron married Virginia Palmer on August 12, 1967, and, together, they had Ronnie, Michael, Jerry, Missy, and Linda. Ron and Ginny enjoyed dancing and playing cards. They loved to spend all their time together. Virginia passed away on April 3, 1987.
Ron met and married Nancy Westmoreland in 1990. Nancy brought two children to this union, Lisa and Jason Fowers. Together, they had one son, Jeremy Hyde.
Ron had his own trucking company, “R & N Trucking.” Driving was his hobby and love. He loved to see the world. He was his children’s living map because he knew where everything was. If you spit out a highway or freeway, he knew exactly where it was. The only vacation he ever took in his life was to Mount Rushmore. He instilled his love of driving and seeing new places in his children’s lives. They loved to take road trips to new places.
Anywhere Ron went he had no strangers; he considered everyone a friend. He was a hard worker, valued his family, and took the best care of everyone around him.
He enjoyed being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Even though Ron has lost two wives and three sons throughout his life, he always showed so much love, compassion, humor, and love for life – despite the pain and sorrow he carried with him from the loss.
After Nancy passed away in 2013, he moved to Caldwell to be with his companion, Phyllis Hilton. After losing two wives, Phyllis gave him companionship and happiness up until the very end.
He is survived by Gerald (Kristine) Hyde, Linda Williams (Jake Bergstrom), Melisssa (Chris) Liggett, and Phyllis Hilton. He has ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wives, Virginia and Nancy, he was preceded in death by three sons, Ronnie Kirk Hyde, Michael Todd Hyde, and Jeremy Clifford Hyde; and a step-daughter, Lisa Fowers.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
