RUPERT – Rhen Gilbert Shurtz, precious baby boy of Rhen Alvin and Jamie Lee Shurtz, was born into the arms of angels on Jan. 8, 2021. Born at 35 weeks, he weighed 4lbs. 9oz. and was perfect in every way. Even though baby Rhen never spent any time with us on earth, he was very loved and touched many lives. His two big brothers, Ruger and Jayse, will always have an angel watching over them. He is our angel that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his parents, Rhen and Jamie Shurtz; two amazing big brothers, Ruger and Jayse; his grandparents, Gilbert and Kim Halbert, Shauna and Dan Price, and Ross and Betty Shurtz; great-grandparents, Margaret (Richard) Kramer, and Thelda Shurtz. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, Rex Davis, Patricia Klauser, Dennis Klauser, Larry Halbert, Leo Hurst, and Utahna Hurst.
Rhen and Jamie would like to thank the nurses at the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital for all the love, support and compassion during this very tough time. Rhen’s family will forever be grateful.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where family and friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.
