Larry Eugene Richardson

BURLEY – Larry Eugene Richardson, a true outlaw with the voice of a choir boy, rode off into the sunset on September 1, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Burley, Idaho, after a long and hard-fought health battle.

Born in Burley on April 18, 1960, Larry lived his whole life on his own terms, and there was never any doubt in anyone's mind that he did it his way.

If you knew Larry, you knew the man loved love. He married more than once– five times actually but who’s counting, and he made no apologies for it. He had his vices throughout his life, and those who loved him best knew that was simply part of the package. He was an outlaw to the core, rebellious, unforgettable, and impossible to replace.

For over 40 years, Larry made his living in the auto industry, both selling and fixing vehicles. He had a rare talent in the auto body world, the kind of skill you cannot teach out of a book, and he took great pride in passing that knowledge down to his son. Along the way he collected more tools than any one man could ever need, though nobody ever managed to convince him of that. Larry wore many hats.

He recently celebrated 22 years as a loyal and respected member of the Brother Speed Motorcycle Club, Burley Chapter, and he was passionate about motorcycles right up to the end, becoming a collector and a bit of a wheeling-and-dealing salesman in his later years.

By day, Larry found a new calling as a Cassia County school bus driver, a role he genuinely loved. By night, he was an outlaw. That contrast summed him up perfectly. He had warrior blood and overcame more obstacles in life than most people could imagine.

Nothing mattered more to him than his kids and grandkids. His entire life revolved around them. He was fiercely protective of his family, and the pride he carried for his children and grandchildren is something he will forever be known for.

His love language was food, and he would find any excuse to take you out to eat. He also loved handing out cash to his grandchildren, and more than one of them can still hear him asking, "You broke?"

Larry was a storyteller through and through. He would happily hold you hostage on the phone, retelling the same stories he had shared a hundred times before, and you loved him too much to hang up.

He was an avid sports fan with an impressive knowledge of both historical and recent sporting news, able to hold his own in any debate. In recent years he rediscovered the outdoors and started fishing again, finding peace in the quiet moments.

Raised as a devout Pentecostal Christian, with his own grandfather serving as a pastor, Larry recently rediscovered his love of God. That homecoming of faith brought a new light to his final chapter, and his family finds comfort knowing he made his peace and returned to the God he was raised to love.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Jared) Barnes, Amber Richardson, Celeste Richardson, and Jessie (Dan) Anderson; his sons, William Brant Richardson and Jason (Lindsey) Marker; his brother, Lonnie (Melanie) Richardson; his sisters, Peggy (Paul) VanNoy and Penny (Yancy) Scott; his grandsons, Corey, Chance, Matthew, Dahlen, Lance, Nico, and Jaylon; and his granddaughters, Taije, Casha, Jurnee, Bailey, Oaklee, Sage, Maddilyn, and Lilly.

He leaves behind a family that adored him and a legacy of loyalty, grit, and unconditional love. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Darlene Richardson, his sons-in-law, Buck Workman and Martin Quintana; and his grandson, Corey Quintana. He carried an enduring void in his heart for each of them in their own unique way. While deeply missed here, his long-awaited reunion with them is a glorious one.

A viewing will be held Thursday, September 10, from 5 to 7 pm at Rasmussen Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E 16th St, in Burley. A celebration of life will be held the following day, Friday, September 11, at 3 p.m. at Albion Park, located at 437 W North St., in Albion, Idaho.

At his request and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a fund that will be disbursed to his grandchildren, a fitting final gesture from a man who never stopped asking his loved ones if they had enough. Donations can be made via Venmo or in cash at the Celebration in Life.

The family wishes to thank the Burley City First responders who attempted lifesaving procedures. A big thank you also goes to the Cassia County School District transportation team. His family recognizes and appreciates the school district employees who welcomed him, accepted him, and treated him like family. That kindness meant the world to him, and it means the world to those he left behind.

In closing, and in the famous words of Larry Eugene Richardson, "Ride it like you stole it." Ride in Peace.
