HEYBURN – James Jay Eggleston, a 47-year-old, loving husband and father of three children passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in Murray, Utah.
James was born June 1, 1972, in Pocatello, Idaho to Chris and Linda Marie (Phillips) Eggleston. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1991. After graduating from high school, James went to work at the J.R. Simplot company and then later found his favorite job as a teachers’ aid for the Head Start program. James’ whole life changed on July 6, 1996, when he married the love of his life, Amber Goodro. With Amber by his side they would go on to raise their two daughters, Jalynn, and Kierra; and their son, Braxton. James lived through a tragic accident on May 27, 2005, which left him wheelchair bound for the rest of his life.
Despite his situation, James had a passion for life. James was known to be quite the jokester, with an undeniable gift of making people laugh. James had such a quick wit, an infectious smile, and a kind and compassionate spirit. James loved classic cars, the Ford Mustang in particular. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him could feel his love for life, and passion for his family.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Marie; brother, Josh; nephews, Sterling Still, Cameron Eggleston, and Carter Eggleston; and niece, Brikelle Still; as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Amber; his three children, Jalynn, Kierra, and Braxton; his father, Chris Eggleston; mother, Cindy Eggleston (step-mother whom he loved as mother); and siblings, Jeremy, Jason, Paula, Jared, Chet Jeff, Matt, Justin, and Thomas. James is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his beloved fur babies.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Heyburn Ward, 300 S. 500 W., of Heyburn, with Bishop Bill Conant officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and at the church on Thursday from 10 until 10:45 a.m.
