James Douglas McDowall

James McDowall 74 of Burley passed away Wednesday, August 05, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim was born in Wendell, Idaho to Hale Roberts McDowall and Marie Johnson McDowall. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in Colorado. He joined the Army in 1959. He was stationed in Japan as a map maker. He was employed as a fireman, a long haul driver and farm hand. Jim moved back to the Mini-Cassia area in 2005, here he and his wife Shirley have lived in the Pella area where they found home. Jim loved the people of the Pella Area and had many close friends. Jim loved baseball, gardening and fishing. He held Christ dearly in his heart. He always had a great sense of humor and a funny story to share.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Father and Son (Ron). He is survived by his friend and loved wife Shirley, four children, Douglas, Jenny, Roddy and Jack, all in Western, Idaho and Eastern Oregon, also his friend and brother Ernest McDowall and his wife Mary. Jim had many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 11, 2015 at the Pella Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.
