RUPERT – Ila Jane Lloyd, an 80-year-old resident of Jackson, Cassia County, Idaho, died at her home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Ila was born in Paul, Idaho, on October 25, 1937, the third of four children born to Russell Floyd and Katie Justena Eilers Acock. She graduated in 1955 with the last class of Rupert High School. She subsequently attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On November 4, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Ellis Lloyd, in Rupert. Surprising to some, they were happily married for nearly 62 beautiful years. The marriage was blessed with six children, Rob (Magna, UT), Russ (Wildomar, CA), Tami (Hailey, ID), Randy (Burley, ID), Pam (Anthem, AZ), and Tiffany (Jackson, ID).
Ila was employed by several local employers; Rupert United Methodist Church, Minico Auto Parts, Intermountain Irrigation, Rupert Abstract, Wally Walker, and Columbia Electric. Ila was an excellent wife, mother, bookkeeper, cook, seamstress, and an active member of the Rupert United Methodist Church. She was constantly cooking for others, sewing for her family and friends, volunteering with the church, Relay for Life, P.E.O, and sewing comfort pillows for Minidoka Memorial Hospital. Creating and doing things and bringing others joy is what made her happy.
Ila was predeceased by her mother, Katie Acock; her father, Russell Acock; and sister, Wanda Ballard. She is survived by the love of her life, Ellis; all six of her children; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her beloved dogs, Buddy and Gia; her brothers, Robert (Preston, ID) and Marlo (Oak Ridge, NC); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins she adored. A special thank you to Dr. Jeff Swenson for going the extra mile to care for Ila in her last years and getting her home to pass in peace. Much appreciation to the Minidoka Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, Emergency Services, Portneuf Medical Center, Minidoka Hospice, and the Rupert Fire Department - East End Division.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Rupert United Methodist Church, 605 H Street, with the Rev. David Madden officiating. Burial will be in Rupert Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Open Hearts Food Bank at the Rupert United Methodist Church or the Rupert United Methodist Church Foundation.
