Gwynne E Ramey

Eleanor Gwynne Lambert Ramey passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at her home.

Gwynne was born May 16, 1935 in Rupert, ID. She spent her young years in the Jackson, ID area. She was born the middle of three children of Joseph Elmer and Leotta Ruth Pratt Lambert. Gwen lost her mother when she as four years old, her younger sister was a baby at the time, her father not having the means, or ability to care for a baby at the time allowed family friends to adopt the baby, Eva. Gwynne and her older sister spent much of their time running and playing in the desert, much of the land around them was still in sagebrush. She still had fond memories of her pet barred rock chicken, her dog sandy, and their pet sheep an uncle gave them and the many lizards they chased. At the age of thirteen they moved to Declo, ID where her dad worked at the lift station on the canal. She attended school at Declo until 1952. She then married Delmer Decker and had a son Robyn. Gwynne divorced Delmer and in 1954 she married Ernest Ramey, they had four daughters, Roxanne, Lorrie, Cindy, and Mary, Ernest later adopted Robyn.

Mom had a green thumb and could grow most anything. She also loved to crochet, sew, quilt and cook. She taught her daughters these skills.

Gwynne is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Mother, Father, her Stepmother Drucilla Lambert, her sister Ruth, her daughter Roxanna Ruth Ramey Plew, and Great-Great Grandson Luke Podesek. She is survived by her husband Ernest Ramey, Son Del Robyn Ramey, daughters Lorrie Venus Ramey Dunahoo, Cindy Lee Ramey Matsen, Mary Gwen Ramey Benton, several Grandchildren, Greatgrandchildren and Great-Great Granddaughter.

At the request of Gwynne there will be no funeral services. There will be a Graveside service 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Rupert Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.

A very special thank you to Dr. Margo Saunders, and to Home Health and Hospice for their great help.

As I quietly contemplate the music I hear of late

I know the Angels are preparing me for a date

There is a presence so very neat that expels fear

The Still Small voice of the Holy Spirit I often hear

The Still Small Voice is a reminder that Jesus is ever near

I see a mansion free because Jesus paid the price for me

The vision I will see more clearly as my date in Heaven draws near

Listen what is that I hear? Sounded like a trump-------

She packed her all her spirit and soul

Just inside the gate she said “please Lord may I wait.”

Yes daughter, but just inside the gate

It will be yet awhile and they will be along

I knew you would understand Lord, for you too have a Son

In Acts 16:31 did I not say you and your house “saith the Lord”.

It was her last night of fright, of tears

I know she was enveloped in all-consuming Light

I can see her now with a grin from ear to ear

As the Lord let her at the door so dear

The door swung wide as Mom saw the other side

The grin becomes a laugh of joy now

As Mom can see those who have gone on before

I can see her now rush to the Lord to plead

Lord watch over my loved ones until again we meet

In this place so beautiful and sweet

In my heart there is an empty place

In my life there is a voided space

There is an empty chair that held a loved one

Time will close the voided space

But there will always be that tie that love binds

Not a love that has been so kind

There will be memories to help in the deepest time of need

This past love will ever leave a seed of hope

A seed that will grow and help in our time of need

It will grow to a plant of renown not a weed

We are born to die yet we can hope

Hope to leave a twinkle in someone’s eye

We can hope our passing will bring a tear to some precious eye

Yes we are born to die, but question not why

To us all it is appointed once to die

Hold fast to the joys we shared, to the pleasures we had

Let slip into the past the bad, the failures we had

Hold to the good, as we all should

We have had a great journey together, over the mountains, through the valleys and across the rocky slippery slopes. Now we are approaching the end of this journey as we look toward our eternal home. You may beat me there, wait for me close by the Eastern Gate and I will soon meet you there. I had often hoped that we would enter the Gate hand in hand, but maybe not, God knows. Maybe God has another chore for me, but I will be along soon. Tell Clint to call me if he can stop preaching to the angels long enough. There are no words to tell you how much I love you, but I love you because you are you. Your spirit will forever abide with me and I will cherish it always.

All my Love and forever yours, your soulmate Ernie
