He graduated from Cole Grade School and Boise High School. He then attended the University of Idaho where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He graduated in 1941 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics. He then worked for the Boise Payette Lumber Company until 1942, when he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp. On Aug. 29, 1969, George married C. Kelly Elliott in Carson City, Nev., and they enjoyed 45 years together. They enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling in their R.V. They were able to travel from the tip of Alaska to the southern tip of Mexico and loved every minute if it. They built a home in Sun City West, Ariz., and spent the winter months in Arizona and the summer months in Idaho. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Burley, and was a member of the Rupert Elks Lodge.
