BURLEY – Edwin Erwin Bartlett, 72, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Erwin was born Aug. 31, 1944, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Edwin Franklin and Esther Schick Bartlett. As a young man, he served in the United States Army National Guard. Later in life, he met his soul-mate and the love of his life, Jan, and they were married March 4, 1978. Their union resulted in a blended family of five children, which Erwin dearly loved and adored. He spent many hours boating or riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, and horses with his family.
Erwin had a great love for mechanics and enjoyed restoring classic cars. As a young man he worked at Fronk Motors and Kim Hansen Chevrolet. He eventually opened his own mechanic shop where he spent many hours repairing vehicles, and in the process, making many lifelong friendships. He was devastated when he was forced to close his business because of his failing health.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jan Bartlett; and his five children, Wendie (Salvador) Munoz, Rene (Tim) Bunn-Roselle, Jeff (Katie) Bunn, Chris (Winston) Inouye, and Kurt (Coral) Bartlett. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Erwin was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, preceding the service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, with military rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.
