Beulha Kidd Smith

MALTA - Beulha Kidd Smith passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at the age of 84. She was blessed to pass peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Beulha was born March 4, 1930, in Declo, Idaho. She was the daughter of Norman C. Kidd and Irva Newbold Kidd. She married Samuel N. (S.N.) Smith on April 2, 1948, in Burley, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on Feb. 16, 1973.

She was a member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. She served as the food storage coordinator, Cub Scout leader, and in the Young Womens and Relief Society presidencies. She also served two missions with S.N., the love of her life. They were called on a service mission at the Deseret Industries and a proselyting mission in Red Lodge, Montana. They loved the time they were able to spend together while serving the Lord.

Beulha was so dedicated to her family. As a young child she and her siblings took care of their mother who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. She helped run the family farm and did a big share of the cooking and cleaning. As she later married and became a mother herself, she continued to spend her time serving. There was nothing more important to her than her family. She had many hobbies and always kept herself busy. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her family. Hunting, fishing, and camping were some of her favorite past times, but she really loved to fish! She also loved winter projects and spent many hours crocheting doilies and making quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She raised a tight-knit family that loves and adores her, and she has left a legacy that will be cherished forever. We will miss you greatly and will always treasure the memories until we are united again.

She is survived by her children, Kenny (Linda) Smith, Tomas (Carrie) Smith, Kim (Debra) Smith, Danny (Rhonda) Smith, Tamara (Scott) Winn, Kurt (Terri) Smith, and Cindy (Steve) Durfee; her siblings, Elmon Kidd, Marvin Kidd and Norma Fewkes; 30 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel N (S.N.) Smith; her grandson, Seanachan Azure; her great-granddaughter, Jasmine Smith; her siblings, Verlin Kidd, Dale Kidd, Cleo Kidd, and Elda McGraw; and her parents, Norman and Irva Kidd.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Malta LDS Church with Bishop Brad Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Vu Cemetery in Malta, Idaho.

Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept 7, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
